LS400 power steering
Hello LS400 enthhusiasts, I just wanted to ask an interesting and hopefully a productive question/topic.
I recently spoke with a mechanic that told me the LS400 line was very common to have leaky power steering pumps or hoses. Is this true?
So has anyone else had this problem?
Has anyone came up with a solution? Solid steel hose, or a smaller pulley maybe? Maybe even there is a certain manufacturer of an aftermarket pump that has resolved this issue? Anybody know of one?
Thanks in advance, Bradley.

This covers a lot of PS discussion.

For leaking, with any part like this as it ages, the seals are subject to allowing fluid to leak-migrate out. The PS is easy to rebuild and there is little need to underdrive the pump, it will not accomplish much other than potentially cause PS steering issues with improper fluid flow.
The original design is sufficient on a street daily driven car.
