as far as i can gather WPS is just a distributor but getting any more info is scant.
i may be completely wrong and it's a chinese manufacturer.

use at your own risk i say, and report back if you end up using it.

What was the damage on it? I'ma need to replace my starter soon, being a low budget for now, there's a chance i'm willing to pay a bit less, even if it means ripping the engine back apart a few years down the road... Depending on the price that is.

IMO the best option is simply rebuild your OEM starter with OEM contacts.
This costs less and avoids the potential of out of spec chinese parts.

Here is a nice DIY tutorial on the starter rebuild.

this is true, I have already replaced the contacts in my 99 LS, my 96 has not needed it, or had it before I got it. but I saw this one on craigslist for 50$ and ask the brand, and she said wps world power systems, with a photo, I am, currently waiting to hear from her again. but I dont believe it is chinese. wps seems to be a distributor of Karam parts in Canada.

Unless your doing the work yourself, get the OEM brand...Denso. You don't want it crapping out on you and having to pay a mechanic $500 to replace the part. It's a labor intensive job.

WPS = 100% Chinese , not comparable with oe parts, Looks shiny, but only lasts a couple months....
I'm from Europe and these WPS starters and alternators are here well known to be complete rubbish!

Please go with OE Denso!
