1996 ls400 tranny problem i think? help!
When I start to accelerate into second gear the shifting feels real sluggish and it hesitates a little sometimes like it jerk. What could this be and is there anyone around the illinois area who specializes in fixing these for cheap. I checked the trans fluid and it looks jus a little overfilled because it was leaking and I added some. But lately I haven't been seeing it leak and the fluid difference hasn't changed. I hope the transmission isn't messing up where I got to replace it. Will lucas help? I dont have a lot of money to put into it and don't want to. I have other problems I need to fix I just want to sell it its pissin me off.

what type of oil is in your transmission, i have a 1997 and when i bought the car, the shifts from 1st to 2nd and 3rd were very harsh and firm. After draining the wrong tranny fluid and putting the correct TOYOTA ATF transmission fluid i couldnt believe the difference. Today the car shifts so smooth, i cant even feel it shift gears. It really amazes me how just the right oil, can correct such a serious problem. also the car use to downshift funny while turning a corner and lurch harshly into 2nd gear. Anyways, find out what kind of oil is in the tranny. even after changing the oil in your tranny to the correct toyota ATF IV FLUID it may take thousands of kms of driving before you start to notice the difference,
