Hey everyone

Good news

After struggling with my mpg problem for almost a month checking everything , doing code scans , checing with many mechanics

All were giving me nothing to fix the problem
The mechanic checked the ect sensor and he said it is working properly
I decided to change it anyway since i had to change the timing belt ( and btw can somebody tell me the right milage to vhange the belt )
Plus i added toyota certified injector cleaner and the mpg changed significantly
Now it is like what is written in the book 18 - 24 city - highway
Before it was doing 17 in highway

The sensor was looking ok but may it is worse than who it looks

To all friends to have this problem

Try what i did coz the trial worth the shot and the injector cleaner and the sensor wont cost u much

Thx

I changed mine and it didn't do anything for me.

As far as the TB, Toyota says it's due every 90k. My car has 118k on it and the timing belt looks just fine, so I'm not going to worry about it.

Personally, I can't believe injector cleaner can have that much of a difference. If they were that clogged up you would have had no power and at idle it would have been horrendous. In fact, you probaly would have gotten a code and the CEL would have come on.

I wouldn't ignore the TB interval if I were you. "looking just fine" is not worth the headache you might have when it breaks. It's recommended to be changed at 90k for a reason, preventive.

That being said, it's totally up to you since it's your car.
