Ls400?
Was thinking of recommending a LS400 (98-00) to my mom and dad who are thinking of selling a Honda minivan and get another car. They are older, but would like a comfy car again since they sold their Deville and got a Camry (boy was that a shock for a change!).
So after having a GS400 now for a few months was thinking a LS400 would be a nice ride for them.
Any LS400 owners out there give me some advice? Good? Bad? Ugly?
Things to watch out for? Options to have? To no care about? They live in Florida. They likely will want the HID lights for sure, they need the brighter headlights.
Thanks!

Sounds like you should get them in a 2000 LS400, Stock HIDs (IIRC), unless you want to do the install for them.

Thanks! Lots of reading to do.
Anywhere to find what the platinum editions and other special editions were? So often those names are meaningless to me, so often they are local dealer names that are just there to get a few extra $ and give you nothing.

any 98-00 in good condition with maint. records will do them just fine. HIDs were NOT standard in '00, though they are more common in '99 and '00 as more dealers optioned them out as such.
detailled buying guides can be had through searching but the cliffs follow:
-maint. records should be up to date.
-timing belt/wp are due every 90k miles and are VITAL
-avoid the factory navi cars, it's out of date and unupdateable now.
-avoid factory air suspension cars.
