My rear discs/pads are just NAPA branded stuff, but the front rotors are R1 Concepts (cut from Centric blanks, just like StopTech) drilled/slotted ($125 shipped directly through them with free shipping) and front pads are EBC RedStuff units, which were dusty at first, but have been very clean the last couple years - they're due for replacement in about ~8k miles.

I've been satisfied with this setup, though my previous R1 Concepts slotted front rotors suffered heavy warping and burning about a year and a half of regular use. Still, for the price, it adds a bit of curb appeal as well.

My vote goes is for stock, no complaints with mine. If you are driving the car harder, a more performance oriented set-up.

we have threads on this but for posterity's sake:

i'm running blanks all around (centric blanks, they make brembo's oem blanks as well afaik)
and PBR/Axxis Deluxe Ceramic brake pads (LOVE THESE!).

i'll prolly switch to slotted rotors at some point, no real difference in performance but they will look better behind the wheels (and no cracking like drilled rotors are prone to).

Thanks PD for the heads up! This should take some of the time off my research, I've been on SEVERAL brake sites including R1Concepts.com and it has been crazy to say the least!!!

I had the front brake pads on my 2000 LS400 replaced for the second time in November at 145,391 miles: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...1&#entry443775

OEM brake pad life on these cars is long. At 145,391 miles, the front rotors measure the exactly the same thickness as when the car rolled out of the factory and they have been machined twice - amazing! The rear brake pads were replaced for the first time at 120,000 miles -- first and last time while I own the car since the car is scheduled for replacement in 2015 at about 200,000 miles. We plan ahead.

R1 should no? PBR is an aussie company, axxis is/was their US brand name.
