a heat quetion
so i let the Lexus warm up till the idle settle to its warm idle. generally the temp needle is at the first line so 1/4 of the way. i do this every time i leave to go some ware. i noticed this morning i had to hold the idle around 2000 rpm to get any heat. i let it back to idle and it went cold again.
i checked my coolant level and its ware it should be. any chance these cars like to get a air pocket in the heater core? once i drove down the block it was fine.
it was about 38F out side this morning.

Sounds like air to me. You need to bleed it out from the 17mm bolt on top of the thermostat housing. (That's the highest spot on the engine) This shows the bolt in step #5; http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/cooling/coolant.html
Ya need to get the engine at warm temp, turn heat to MAX, then just crack the bolt loose and watch the air bubbles come out. There will be some spitting of coolant so don't open it too much. Then add a little coolant when it cools down.

Nice to hear ya got it. I know what it's like to just have heat when the car is moving. And even none at all. Make sure you add a little coolant first thing in the morning, keep it full.
