Default Air Suspension Controller

I saw a hit that costs over $600 (forgot what it's called), and I also found this Lextreme Height Module that costs $200 http://www.lextreme.com/as.htm

Have you guys heard of this or have this?

There is also the AST554 Air Sus Tuning Kit.

I just want to lower my car by 3-4 inches.

Which do you guys recommend?

that you save the money for coilovers since the air suspension if it ISNT already blown will blow very very quickly once you lower it out of spec.

Really? I thought the members here have something like this that lowers their ride?

If I do decide to get coil overs, and drop the car a few inches, wouldn't that disable the air suspension?

you tryna lower your car on factory air? Be prepared for blown shocks. Unless you ride stock height and just park it slammed. Then its all good haha

Weve all seen this before. A ride height controller on oem air struts doesnt last very long. Oem air struts were never made to ride low especially with their current age. Id go for coilovers or aftermarket air suspension.

Ok, so forget the air suspension controller, since I can't drive the car without worrying about the shocks being blown.

Quick question:
What's a good place and cost for coil overs?
Also, if I install them, I'd first have to remove/deactivate the air suspension, right?

I found this website for Aftermarket coil overs: https://gripmotorsports.com/vl~pn~Lexus-LS400-0.html

^Good place to get em, or you guys recommend somewhere else?

Edit: found this place also: http://www.andysautosport.com/coilovers.html

most are on coils, some like JGC, Schnitz, and Big Steve are all on aftermarket air. (you too EXE.VIP)

please search for coilovers, many here (myself included) love the Megan LP Street.

http://www.andysautosport.com/lexus/...a00247263.html

^$800 for Coilovers? I don't really need anything that expensive or nice. I mean, the cars 22 years old; I don't need top dollar mods.

I'm gonna try ebay and craigslist..

Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trkp...&_sop=15&_sc=1

^Mostly Megan stuff.

Also, whats a Damper Kit?

lol megans are nowhere near top dollar.

if you want to drop the car properly, you have to pay SOME money.

just doing shocks and lowering springs will cost you >$600, and then you have little/no adjustability. any crap generic coilover is going to be at LEAST $400 but what good is it when it doesnt ride properly/dies after a year.

I..did not know that, lol.

Ok, so I guess Megans is my only option then. So, that's $700 right there for Coilovers. What would I do to my air suspension though, and installing the Coilovers and lowering your ride is something that you can do yourself without going to a mechanic, right?

Where can I find some nice brake calipers?

Lastly, I mentioned before that I want to restore and dye my leather seats black. There are a few places, and I haven't had the time to call them and ask for a quote or anything.

Now, I want to dye the plastic parts in my car Black also. Are SEM Adhesion Promoter Aerosol a good way of going about with this, or is there a better method?

if this is good enough, besides cleaning the surface of the plastic, is there anything else that I would have to do? I'd probably have to remove a lot of stuff (or tape off as much as I can), so I don't ruin anything else.

Anything can be done without going to a mechanic IF you are mechanically inclined, have enough confidence, have the correct tools, and have directions. The coilover conversion is here; http://www.lextreme.com/ascon.html you can also order them from there if you want, the link is at the bottom.
As for your old air suspension, you could always try selling the stuff (shocks, compressor, ECU, etc.) on ebay or Craigslist to get some money back. Just remember, you would be selling 20 yr. old parts so you're not gonna get top dollar for garbage.
python was just looking for a shock for a customer.
Search Search for your info, you'll get alot more answers on what everyone has done with their cars.
