Default need help (Air Susp. options)

so a customer sees my car sitting outside and comes in to ask me for some help...he has a 1991 and one of the rear air struts are blown out. whats the best route? replace the air with something from strutmasters? try to find another used air strut? i need some advice from someone who has already had this issue or knows from someones else experience...thanks in advance

yea you should be able to swap out the air ride struts for spring and shocks!!! you just have to figure out or find the fuse for the air ride pump

Cheapest route for your customer is gonna be to dump the air suspensions and convert to shock/spring combo. OEM replacements are quite expensive and alot of the aftermarket stuff to replace is just pure junk. Am pretty sure they will be MUCH happier with the overall savings down the line.

lol $225/EACH?! for 15 year old air suspension??! yeah i think i'd take my chances with arnott or strutmasters over that, same money but those are new and come with a warranty lol.

Just buying one of them would be worth it over buying the Strutmasters kit if ya wanted to keep the price down. But if you were gonna get all three then I would agree with PureDrifter and get the whole kit (new) and have a warranty.
But, to answer your question, those wont work anyway for the 91, it's a different part number. They're more expensive then I even thought from Sewell, $1423 for front and $825 for the rears.

the stroke length is different from 1st to 2nd gen so it wont work well long term anyways. they will bolt up but because of that they will just die quicker.

Huh, that's good to know, that they will bolt on. I thought they were a different size. I've been looking just incase one of mine went out. But if they're the same it gives me more of a market to look at. Thanks PD.

not really...did you totally miss the part where it will BLOW THE SHOCK?
this is why tein coilovers for the 2nd gen won't fit the 1st gen properly. The reason Megans and JICs work across both is because they were designed for the 1st gen. Also, this is the reason you can't raise 2nd gen cars on 1st gen coilovers back to stock height, you still end up an inch+ down.
