Default cleaning the ecu

I about to change the capacitors but before I change them I want to clean the ecu. I use alcohol but it only took off the clear stuff, I try to find something else u can use to get up the brown stuff.

Alcohol and a Q-Tip will work just fine. Rubbing alcohol that is, not the stuff you drink!

That what I used it don't clean it all the way it leave a brown looking look to it, like it dry it up or something

Dont worry about it being discolored. Just neutralize the leaked electrolytic's and it will be fine.

Ok I cleaned the ecu and replaced the capacitors and it run the same I didn't get a chance to see if it pull codes cause it got dark with that daylight savings time. I have a 94 w/trac and the ecu i test is a 93 w/o trac ( didn't want to mess up the 94 ecu) will that make a difference or the 93 w/o trac ecu bad to where it can't get fix?

search for "mine's" in this forum (use the top bar, google is better for punctuation) and you'll find a few posts on members who'd picked them up cheap. consensus is generally they're a solid performance boost of a few HP.
