Default Picture of my 98

Wanted to post a picture of my 98 LS. I have had it 6 weeks. One owner. Bought it from my brother in law. Have complete service records including window sticker. Car was in great condition, but had been setting for almost 4 years. Was driven around 2400 miles during that time period. I have put 18's on, the chrome pillar post in this picture and 7 coats of polish/wax. Paint was in good condition but had not been keep up during that time frame. Since this picture I have added megaflow pipes. Have Gold Emblems ordered. Has 139,221 when i bought it. 141,000 & change now. I had it checked by a Lexus dealer. At this time needs no real work. I have noticed when I hit a speed bum like hump there is a feel of bottoming out on the right front shock. I am guessing maybe bad shock! Any thoughts??. Any input appreciated.

car looks clean but i'm definitely not a fan of those wheels.
please search for common problems, the clunking you're talking about is likely the strut rod bushings in the front suspension, not the shock itself.

very nice looking LS. usually the shocks last a long time, the strut rod bushing may be torn on the right front, offering no support for the shock.

Thanks for the input on the struts. I plan to have it checked out next week. As for my wheels I understand your opinion. I see wheels an other things on this forum and out an about I do not like also. I respect everyone's taste because at the end of the day they are happy with what they have chosen. Of course everyone likes to hear positive comments. The negative ones just balances out life. Thanks

Odds are I may need to replace my front struts based on what my replies are. What is the cost & I assume I would need to replace all the struts... Thanks

both replies just told you that it was NOT the shocks, but the strut rod bushings...

so why would you replace the shocks?

I understand Probably is struts as you can see with my reply at 5:52 today. I was asking about the cost of replacing my struts then not shocks.

struts=shocks in parlance, the LS has only shocks, not struts.

the bushings we're talking about are the strut rod bushings, also known as the caster or radius arm bushings.

Nice looking Lexus....7 coats of wax/polish-Man, u gotta love it...as far as your bottoming out problem, I agree with PureDrifter and BillyPowe-it is the strut rod bushings because I have same problem on a 95LS I just brought that sat for 2years. But I am replacing all of the bushing on the car. 2 each their own as far as the wheels and if the shocks are good, don't fix nothing if it aint broke--replace the bushings and keep your pennies in your pocket...JMHO....
