Default Is the rear bumper from the 95-97 LS the same as the 98-00?

Hey guys, I am sure this has been mentioned before but I am probably typing the wrong things in the search box so I am not coming up with the simple answer to this question.

Will the rear bumper from a 1995-1997 LS400 (2nd gen before MC) fit a 1998-2000 LS400 (2nd gen after MC)???

According to ebay, a lot of places claim they will fit. When my friend called a dealership to confirm the part number, they said the part numbers are different between the two....so perhaps they won't fit. Anyways, if you know the answer, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

they arent exactly the same and will require massaging. only person i know of who's done it is lexkost. (98-00 LSportline kit onto his '96 iirc)

only interchangeable body parts between a 95-97 and 98-00 are sideskirts, door shells, glass (all at once, different tinting), door moulding, sunroof, and the badges.
other stuff can be swapped but require conversions (front end, rear bumper+trunk+tails, etc...)

Thank you man, looks like I'll need to find a 98-00 rear bumper as well. Thanx for the heads up.

Yeah man, it sux. But thanx for the info. I've been calling spots from car-parts, seems like there's two potential candidate within driving distance. Their insurance company already sent me a check, so I am hoping to just fix this myself and use the money to paint my whole car as well.

whole car paint (done right) is like 2500-3500, you made sure the unibody wasn't too damaged right? that's a fair bit of labor
