Default HELP ECU interchangeability JDM and USDM

Anyone on here know about the interchangeability of ECUS? I have a 92 Celsior with ECU that is FOR SURE done.. I tried another Celsiors ecu with a different part number but the same pins and it worked...

There are ls400 ecus that are the same pins but different part numbers too... does anyone know if an ls400 ecu with the same pins but different part number will work?? my personal ecu is #89661- 50170.. 34P 22P 16P 28P P=pins. LET ME KNOW !

HELP!!!!

well im going to do something club lexus doesn't do almost EVER!
And thats reply to my thread with the answer I was looking for if no one else helped me with it!

The ecu from the LEXUS LS400 Providing it has the same pinout, will work with a celsior!

I just picked up an ecu from a 1993 Ls400 and its now running my late model 92 Celsior! *late models had everything the same as 93+ cars*

**** YEA! enjoy a much easier to find, cheaper ecu - celsior owners!!!

and lol to all the people who said there was NO WAY it would work.

Default Same issue.

Hi, I know I'm 8 years late to the party, but I have the exact same issue. Late 92 Celsior with a dead ECU and I have a line on a 93 USDM. I just want to know if your USDM ECU threw a CEL (presumably for the missing EGR)? I live in a place with emissions testing and a CEL is an automatic fail
