Default Name This Part...Please

I was getting ready to do some engine detailing and noticed a disconnected part or what it seems like a part that was left unconnected to anything?

Its a '98...if someone can please look at theirs and let me know if yours the same? It is located at the firewall (driver side) just above the low pressure a/c port. I looked around the area and it doesn't look like it's supposed to be connected to anything....it is attached to the firewall. Any assistance is greatly appreciated

does your heater work? If this goes straight into the firewall, it's most likely a port for the heater. The old owner could have possibly just rerouted the water line to just recirculate and not pass through the port.

It's a '98. That is the heater valve. You can see the other hose opening on the other side of it. The PO must have just bypassed it by connecting the 2 hoses together. It's possible he did a coolant flush with those hoses and never hooked up the valve again or the heater core could be leaking so he just bypassed everything. That's why you have those hose holders with nothing in them.

+1, and since you live in FL, I'm sure you rarely need heated air.

well....heater works awesome. I looked at the connection on the firewall and it's just a semi thick flexible wire type...not one of those narrow aluminum tubes.

Thanks. I highly doubt the PO did anything to it..orginal owners are seniors. So I'm thinking the tech that did the coolant flush never hooked it back up again. lazy bastard. Thanks guys for identifying it.
