Just curious here (btw I'm really new to my 99 LS) - clearly the lights are motorized somehow, but when exactly do they level - is it only when something heavy is in the trunk or something? What kind of sensor is it?

they do a function test on start up then after that its a near constant cycle, but not instant so its not bouncing up and down over every bump.
