I just don't understand this problem and i have found one person with the same issue with his LS400 but he got no response lol




Every day i drive my car and work fine all up untill the sun sets. I turn on my lights and come to a stop. When i go again i pass 2k ,3k 4k on the teach and the transmission wont shift out of first. I pull over, turn off the lights take off and runs perfect again.

My car doesn't shift when my lights are on. This a known problem ?

friend, you have a ground problem in your electrical system. with your headlights on, they are robbing the ground, keeping your tranny FROM grounding properly, and so not shifting........ so start checking your grounds for loose connections.

What year is your LS400 ? 1990-1994 by any chance?

Yes my LS is 90-94

I scoped out the wiring and looks very clean to be honest. I suppose i may have to check the actuall wiring its self to reall test it.

if you are thinking about that LR hinge, I have never seen it act like the tranny. but could be, PD just clued him in... just in case..
I have seen grounds do funny things..
