Default 1991 LS400 buckets

Are the bucket seats interchangeable on a '91 LS400? I want to transfer the passenger seat to the driver side, keeping the controls, base trim, and mechanicals as is. Sorta like rotating your tires, the wear on the driver seat indicates that it is getting tired.

Why do you wanna do that? then you cant get to the adjustement controls for the seat.

I bought leather from a UK right hand drive LS and put on my driver seat so i got good looking leather again.

As I mentioned, in my post I wanted to balance the wear on the seats. I'm not talking about moving the entire bucket. The controls are in the plastic wrap around not in the leather. I was interested in knowing if the leather portion, cushioning, padding, and the seat frame (seperated from the seat track and wrap around) could be moved, not the seat track/controls/and power track. I'm also talking to a guy who restores the leather seats. They are not bad enough to have to replace the skins, just 2 small holes, typical wrinkleing and cracks in the drivers side. Passenger seat and back seat are near perfect. If I have him do a resto I still wanted to put the passenger seat (leathers) in the driver side because it has very low butt miles in it.

Of course they may be very different as I have not examined them that closely. The leathers are not bad enough to replace, and the driver side only has 2 small holes, the typical scuffing, wrinkles, and minor cracks. I have a leather resto guy looking at them. The passenger and rear seats are near perfect. Even after a resto, I would still rather have the passenger side leathers on the driver side.

leather/padding only might transfer over, but you could redye the driver's seat for less work and then have a better outcome..

You are probably right. I will have the driver's side re-dyed and holes repaired. The seat seems a little saggy and wishie washie to me compared to my LS430. I would also like the get the seat firmed up, thus the thought of using the passenger seat. I think the previous owner was a heavyweight because the seat just feels too squishy and non-supportive for me at 180 lbs. Or maybe the '91 LS seats just aren't that great to begin with. The LS430 seats feel much better to me.
