Default MK3 Supra Coilovers on UCF20??

My buddy was running MK3 Supra coilovers on his UCF10, he just filed the holes that the rear top hat slides into, and they work great, I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about if they fit on UCF20's. I haven't found any useful info from searching. I found of set of Cusco MK3 supra coils for $150 locally and I'd like to pick em up.

buy them and test fit? For 150 I'd think you could resell them pretty easily, maybe even make a profit.

they'll fit if u do the same filing. although the spring rates wont be suited for the heavier LS.

I'm not worried about it, I plan on just ordering two pairs of Swift Springs for the coils, and then just do 18/16 or 20/18, idk yet.

without revalving? and that's pretty stiff for the LS'
weight. if you plan on drifting it i'd go with a bigger difference in front/rear rates otherwise it'll be pretty twitchy esp. if you can't compensate with more sway bar in the front. (only a rear bar is made for -98 cars.)

I've been looking into what I should run for spring rates, and 18/16 seems to be about right since the weight goal is set at 3200lbs, I WILL achieve that weight. I don't think it will have any issues with being twitchy or weird. My S13 was 10/8, stock sway bars, slightly more steering angle over factory, welded diff, and it felt great in a 2300lb car. I like very minimal roll in a drift car.

Orido's Aristo was running 22/20kg spring rates. I've found a few sites selling coilovers recommend 18/12 for SC300 and MK4 supra (similar weight to my car), and 18/12 for JZX100/Cresta.

gut the car then take it to the scales and figure the weight out, the LS is naturally front heavy, and when you gut it you're generally going to add more weight to the front. the 1JZ isn't exactly light and will add even more weight to the front.

i'd give a call to the engineers at Eibach or Hyperco and hear their take on it, sure wouldnt wanna guess....

Well I'm not worried about it. I sold my pair of Sparco's today to fund coilovers/hydro ebrake and differential welding. I'm going with BC Racing coilovers and they come with springs as high as 18/16 so that's the point that I'm starting at. If Its too soft in the front, I'll order a pair of 20kg Swift Springs and throw em on the front with 18kg springs in the rear and give that a try.

how exactly do you plan on getting it down to 3200lbs
someone fully gutted a car with only a drivers racing seat and it was 3500
even if you took out the windows hood and trunk your not there,
best of luck though

UCF20s are significantly lighter than UCF10s.
~210lbs difference between a late '10 and an early '20 if i remember right.

I believe you are misinformed... A buddy of mine (Local) has his UCF10 down to 3100. Thats with the UZ/Auto Tranny/stock suspension (cut springs).

So its possible to run MK3 supra coilovers on a UCF20? Would you still be able to drop the car really low on them? Im just curious about the threaded part for adjustment, cause the Supra seems like a lower car from factory, so is there less threads on the MK3 coilovers than ones for a UCF20?
