Default A sad, sad day for me :(

Hello CLers,

I have some bad news for you all. A member of the LS400 society is down. Due to my loss of focus and fatigue, I rear ended someone. I'm only covered for the other person's damages on my auto insurance. Repairing her will be right out of my pocket. Airbags didn't blow by the way. Anyways, here she is:

How much do you guys think it would set me back to fix her? Is it worth it? The value of these cars in Canada is around $6,000CAD for one with 220'000kms. I'm guessing she's gonna be needing new front fenders, front bumper cover, a hood, a radiator, headlights and corner lights.. Bring my spirits back up, my baby is down

Sad to hear the news and im glad that you're alright. If it's fixable i think you should fix her. Probably going to be cheaper than buying another nice ride.

What do you mean? I should just give up on her? Everything works, it's just nasty looking.. frame looks good too. I don't see why I should just give her up that quickly.

front end damage is always going to cost a lot. way more then it would probably be to just replace the car unfortunately. you will probably need a lot more then what you listed above. sorry for your loss. she looked like a beauty. salvage what you can and start fresher and newer.

Wow, sorry to hear the news. I'm surprised to see the air bags didn't pop with that hard of a hit. What, did you drive under an SUV? If the car wasn't lowered there wouldn't be so much damage, the bumpers would have lined up better. It still does look fixable. Ya might be able to find a good front clip at a junkyard or maybe look around for a parts car with a blown engine or somethin, b/c there's gonna be more damage then what you can see. I feel your pain.

people are a lot harder to fix than cars, glad you got out alright.

pop (lol ) the hood and take a picture, also one each of both fenders. wont be too hard to tell you right quick if its worth fixing/saving.
