Default Anyone ever change a fuel filter on a 93 LS 400?

I am about to change the fuel filter on my 93 LS400 due to an acceleration problem. I cannot find a Haynes manual to show this. No one around here seems to have one and I am too impatient to order it. Any guidance as to where the fule filter is? Any tips or tricks?

In front of the drivers side rear wheel. There is a little silver metal plate which guards the filter.

I took mine to the dealer just to be safe.

Default Fuel filter placement

Thank you so much. I have done it before on most of my cars but wondered if there was anything to it. Sometimes there are little tricks to make it easier.

Whatever you do, make sure and use penetrating oil on the union fittings and don't use anything less than tubing wrenches. May seem like common sense but hey, we all go a little crazy sometime.

Default Fuel filter

The tubing wrench advice was very good. Too bad I did not read until AFTER I was finished...I almost stripped one of the bolts getting it loose. I finally got my 3/4 wrap box wrench on it and it worked much better.
Thanks. Went very well and no big deal at all.

Ask me how I know this wonderful advice. Well, I did strip the bolt. I ended up having to cut the tube and use a compression fitting. Had a hell of a time finding the right nut to fit the filter.
