Default E-Brake Help

Today i changed the transmission fluid in my car....to get to the point, I used the e-brake when i had the car up on ramps. I never use the e-brake and this was probably the first time in a long time it was on.

Anyway, I pulled the lever to remove the e-brake and it appears to be sticking. When i put the car in D, i have to give it a lot of gas to get it moving. I propped the rear up with a jack, and the right wheel spins freely, but the left wheel will only spin backwards.

I just need some quick help in how to disengage it (did search), so i can never use it again

get under the car and find the e brake cable, its probably binding somewhere

if you used the brake properly like every time you park instead of letting the car rest its weight on the transmission, this probably probably wouldn't have some up

WHat do the cables look like?

From reading, i understand that the e-brake is situated inside the brake disk?

ANd after i get it fixed, do you believe it will be okay to use again?

clean everything out with some compressed air and brake cleaner, it should just be a cable running underneath the car, you could have a friend hold the release and press the pedal abunch making it more obvious where the cable is if you can see it moving, doing that might also dislodge whatever is stuck

I'll give it a shot.

I have the rear end jacked up right now and i think i see it.

Is there a good place to grab on to the cable? It looks all covered.

On the plus size, the underside looks good for it being a 1995!

Just got back from looking at it with a buddy. The cable has a lot of slack in it, and i can now see why it had to be pushed down all the way to stop the car at all.

Does it make sense that tightening the e-brake will help disengage it as well?

it wont help disengage it but it will make it alot easier to use next time as you wont need to push it down so far
