car slightly steers loose on freeway... what could it be?
still a very newbie navigating my way thru this great site and hope to get pointers from experts.
today on freeway around 65mph or so, i felt the car (what seemed like right front wheel) moved slightly to left and then back to straight like it something was loose... it was definitely a wtf moment. what could cause this?
i searched on wheel bearing, front strut rod bushings, upper control arm bushings. (lower control arm bushings were replaced before purchase of the car)
will be getting new mounts in soon to discuss with mechanic, but wanted to know if anyone had similar experience.

felt it more than once. it was more like wobbling sensation. gonna have to check all suspension pieces... tie rod ends prices not too shabby. but upper control arms, pretty pricey.

For a quick check of tie rod ends, jack the front of the car up so that the front wheels are off the ground. Grab the wheel at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions and tug back and forth, as if you were trying to turn the steering. Granted, if you're strong enough, you will turn the wheels, but there should be no play ("looseness") in the wheel.
