Hi everyone,
I joined abit ago to do some research while I was looking for a 1st gen ls400. Searched up all the common issues and what to look for in getting a used 1st gen.
Well I bought a 92 LS400 with 180k kilometers early last week. Paid $1200cnd for it, owner was actually asking $3000. Only 2 owners and no accidents. It drove like a dream and had a couple minor issues, but full paper work histroy.
A couple days after I got the car, I found out the thermostat was stuck open, so replaced that. Replaced the old coolant temp sensor while I was at it. It drove awesome for the next couple days. Then all of a sudden I was having hesitation and sputtering issues.
Well long story short, I kept on searching on the forum as to what other ppl have done for this issue.
I replaced the driver side ignition coil as it was still the original, then went ahead and replaced the ignition wires and the spark plugs while I was at it. After this minor tune up, she runs like a dream again!
In short, thanks club lexus for all the info I was able to find in the search fuction!

Let me just say, when I got my LS, CL was the first thing to pop up on google, and the only thing I've ever needed. If a question hasn't been asked, ask it! There are some incredibly knowledgeable people oh here!
