I mentioned in other posts that I had a rumble under the car which indicated torque converter failure and per the advice on this forum, I flushed the transmission fluid and replaced with Castrol High Mileage ATF. Initially I observed no change in behavior, good bad or otherwise, despite the fact that the old fluid looked almost like chocolate sauce.

Then I had a holiday and drove another car for a couple of days. A week or week and a half later (Yesterday) I drove Kiro again and found that after the car warmed up, the rumble had been significantly reduced. On driving it today I find that it had mostly gone away even when cold.

What is left, I found I could reproduce regardless of throttle load. I'm not sure about engine speed. It definitely relates to road speed though.

My questions are:

1, given that this relates only to road speed and not throttle position or, apparently, engine speed, would that still indicate a TC problem? Or something like an output shaft bearing on the transmission?

2, how long does it take the car to pump oil through the torque converter? Is it "in line" with the oil circulation path or might it take some time to circulate the oil with new / fresh oil that has been poured into the fill tube?

3, is there a drain plug on the torque converter attached to an A650E? (May be the same converter on other transmissions)? I can't seem to find any definitive answer.
