Default Power Steering Question

Hey there all,

I know that the old LS400's are susceptible to power steering leakages, and I'm unfortunately not an exception. But I was wondering exactly what the symptoms are?
The wheels seem to whine when I turn sharply. Also, when I go over bumps, it sounds as though the wheels lose air. It's a sound that reminds me of a balloon letting out air quickly (not popping though). Any suggestions?

Do you have an air suspension?

That's a good question. It's a '94, and I wasn't under the impression that they had the option of being air suspension, so I ruled that out.

My 95 had a leaky power steering rack below and a slow leak from the pump above. On the rack, fluid built up around the boots but never inside (worse). The leak on the pump allowed small amounts of fluid to drip below to the radiator. I don't know if gen 1 LS is similar....?
