Uh Oh! Sulfur smell
i just purchased a 94 Ls400 w/ 200,xxx miles.
ran great for 3 days then the fan bracket bearing started making noise.
Replaced that and the timing belt.
now when i start the car, i get a sulfur smell and a lot of white smoke.
i pop the hood and it smokes faintly from near the firewall.. Not a lot just a little.
it will rev great with no misfire in neutral but i go to drive and the pedal can be on the ground but wont really go fast. it does give a little pop hear and there. Could this be a gas issue? i think the last owner put 89
EDIT: so i started taking the spark plugs off one by one. Left (driver side) checked out all good. Right (passenger side) took off #2 and it shocked the **** out of me but no change in RPM. going to replace the distributor and see how things check out.

If it is just one cylinder than is misfiring, I would suspect the plug wire or plug as well, I would doubt it's the dizzy. A misfire is definitely causing the sulfer smell. Good luck.
