Upper ball joint spec
I have failed safety twice now because of upper front ball joints. Replaced them from a donor and still failed. I have the service manual and it gives 9 to 30 in/lbs for tourque spec on the ball joint. The ones I put in passed that test. My mechanic however just puts a pry bar on the coil and lifts the UCA. How much play up/down play is acceptable? Is there supposed to be some wiggle room or do I really need new ones?
Thanks in advance...

Not at all. I remember you and JimsGX saying the Arnott ones had the wrong taper on the ball joint so I was weary of that when I installed these but everything fit great.
When comparing to those I removed from the car, the old ones where thicker steel on the opposite ends from the ball joint (I'm assuming the ones I removed were OEM) but that's about it. Time will tell if the boot on the ball joint stands the test of time.
