ls400.I just got the car in June.99,000 miles.Changed fuel filter,ran alot of techron through it.New air cleaner.Had timeing belt and water pump,and trans fuid replaced.Just checked mileage.23.25 mpg for mostly highway driving.My Tech said the wires and plugs were ok.I have ordered a complete set wires rotors plugs caps.Looks like a bit of a job.The car is great except for that light throttle stutter.sometimes it dosnt do it.Thanks in advance.Michael.1992

Rybikowsky,
Thanks for the data. When you had the trans fluid replaced, did they use the Toyota T-IV? The owner's manual says Toyota T-II but a later tech bulletin says to go the T-IV if possible. I had the light stutter problem for a while when I bought my car (a 91 LS400 with 202,000 miles) but it has cleared up now. I have had a lot of work done, so I am not positive which thing cleared it up. Here is what I have had done that I feel may be related;
trans fluid and filter replaced, including flushing out the differential (which had trapped a lot of fluid that was very dark and thick)
change air filter
change drive belt
B-12 Chemtool fuel injector cleaner added to gas
Restore engine restorer added to oil
Some long distance high speed trips (80-85 mph for a few hours)
Switched from standard oil to Castrol Syntec blend
BTW - do you run premium fuel or standard octane? My stuttering was worse on premium so I use standard octane gasoline now.
It sounds like you have done most of these already. You may want to pm wwest, he is an LS owner who often has some good suggestions.
