I have a 96 LS400 which appears to have stripped a gear for the tilt steering.Anyone know where I might be able to find a used gear and what level of difficulty is there in replacing it.

Search the LS400 subforum for the word "tilt" and I think you will find lots of information including a link to a Youtube video on how to fix your specific problem. I might be able to find a relevant forum thread for you but it might be better to read a bunch of them to see which ones make the most sense to you.

Just fixed my tilt problem last week using that youtube video, I used a water hose washer behind the gear and it works fine. That video will run you thru it step by step.

Thanks guys for the repair help on the tilt wheel, the you tube description made it very simple. I was done in less than 15 minutes, and everything is working well. Thanks again
