Just do a search for coilovers bro. Tons of info just by typing in each brand name under search.

Search as mentioned. Megan's have a really good rep it seems. Good quality for the $. If your not looking to go real low and want comfort / longevity then Tanabe springs + KYB or Bilsien struts is also a great choice.

I got the Megans on my old 93, they were not good at all. I think they were really made for later model cars and just fit the 93, construction seemed ok but they are poorly designed. They sacrifice suspension travel for going low which ruins the ride of the car. 15 way adjustable, 15 ways of pain, I recommend shocks and struts ANYday over ebay coilovers. The LS needs I'm sure at least 6 inches of travel, those coilovers are like 4 or 3, go over a bump at high speed, and get ready to slam your head into the roof as it rams into the bumpstops.

Many discussions on Megan and BCR coils, some talk about the others. DGR and DPS I'm not familiar.

Well, first ask yourself what kind of ride quality you're going for. Do you want to keep that lofty feeling? Or do you want to have that rigid racecar feeling? Personally, I'd look into offerings from BC Racing and Megan Racing as most members on here found great success with either of those manufacturers.

sounds like yours was hitting the shock towers in the front. You could have raised it or cut the towers like everyone else.

That's a problem all LS' face when lowered.

I know this is a completely unrelated question, but which manufacturers coilovers are better suited to a UAS conversion? Or is the difference so insignificant, it's not even worth asking?

If you want comfort, longevity, and a decent drop go with Tanabe springs and KYB struts.

Part of your problem, honestly, is your tire sidewall. Those are 20's right? 30 or 35 mm sidewall? Like rocks basically....

This is what my LS400's setup looked like. You really need to stay with a 40 or 45 mm sidewall to have any comfort. Can't have it both ways.

tire size doesn't work like that. the 2nd number refers to the aspect ratio of the sidewall, aka percent of width.

ie-225/60r16 tire = 225mm width, ~60%*225mm=135mm sidewall, 16" diameter.

so 225/35/20 = 78.25mm wall on 20" diameter

Yup, you definitely never made UCA clearance holes for the drop you had. Any coil over you would have installed would have done the same thing at the height you set it at. My car rides amazing with 2" of ground clearance.
