Question Shocks or struts??

Ok im taking my car in to have my Tokico shocks installed on saturday. I stopped at my mechanics this morning to see what he was going to charge me. The computer he was using to calculate labor charges said that I have struts all the way around on my 1993 LS400. I thought we had shocks? Im confused. what do we have?

Anyways he said the fronts call for .5 hours labor. the backs call for 2.5 hours labor. He said that was the most he has ever seen for rear shocks. Im taking my rear deck out for him so he has access to the 3 bolts on top of either side. he said that should cut down on the labor time. Is there anything else I can do to make this easier for my mechanic?

How much have you paid for installation for your shocks?

Thanks, Josh

Hey I just had my rear ones done two weeks ago. They are struts not shocks. I do not know what the difference is.

Anyways her is the post I wrote up on it.
