Default LS400 power steering pump

Where do I find the procedures for removing the power steering pump?

I also would like to obtain a Haynes manual for my LS400.

Thanks for your help!

Default power steering pump removal problem

In the process of removing my PS pump. Having trouble removing the high pressure bolt on the left side of the pump and the bolt over the alternator.
These bolts are on so tight, I broke my light duty cheater bar on the one
over the alternator. I'm worried about rounding off the bolts, so I would appreciate any suggestions as to a sucessful removal. Thanks

Default power steering pump removal problem

I'm in the process of removing my PS pump. I have two bolts that I am having a hard time removing. The high pressure line bolt on the left side of the pump will not come out and the bolt over the alternator. I broke my
light duty cheater bar on the one over the alternator. I worried that I might round off the these bolts and am open to suggestions on a successful
removal. Thanks!

Did mine a couple weeks ago and those two were the least of my worries. The two that go into the block were the worst for me.

Not even sure what to suggest...
What do you mean by "will not come out"?

Give PB Blaster a try. Spray it on, let it soak for a few hours. You may have to repeat a couple times to let it get into the threads.

For the bolt make sure you are using a 6 point socket not a 12 point. It wont strip the bolt that way. Impact sockets are even better. I didn't have that problem with mine either. But yea, PB Blaster should help. With the presure hose, ya might want to take out anything that might give you more room to swing the wrench.
I hate to say this but, make sure you use the right size wrench. (metric sucks)

Default High pressure line bolt problem

This bolt will not come out. I have tried heat, Blaster, beating on it with a
sharp object, etc. - No results. It is a counter clock wise bolt, is'nt it.
The bolt has copper rings on it-I think . All I end up doing when I put a lot of pressue on it is break loose the other screw in piece that the stubborn bolt screws into. What am I doing wrong?? !!

Default pressure bolt is OUT -PTL

It finally came out. It sure would have been nice if the tutorials had indicated that the high presssure bolt has a "key" built into the copper
rings that must be rotated to remove the bolt. After I rotated the "Key"
it came right out - no problem. This important step should be added to the tutorials -- it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.
