I've scoured eBay...and haven't found any sheepskin covers either...just cheap quality stuff.

Sheepskins seat covers were popular 20-30 years ago but I rarely see them anymore. If your LS is a 1998 (your profile currently says 1988) make sure the seat covers you choose are compatible with the side air bags in the front seat backs -- not many are.

The side airbag pointer is very VERY important. Thanks!

Does anyone on the forum have sheepskin seat covers? If so please let us know(I'm hoping others are interested too) what your experience has been with them and where you acquired yours from.

Thanks so much!

I got one from RM and it was great (still have it; pulled it out of my car after an 85 yr/old lady t-boned me). It accounts for the side air bags. The customer service from RM was great...could not figure out how to get the headrest off, so I sent it back and they cut me in a velcroed slot for free.

Have not put it in the 430 I got to replace my 2000 since it has heated seats, but I might because the black leather can get pretty warm.

Thanks for your reply!

I just spoke with a lady today who owns a 99 ls400. She told me that her sheepskins have left the seats looking MINT!

She said that the sheepskin seat covers had a very positive affect on the leather itself. She said the leather still feels soft and very good.

Have you experienced this as-well?

How much did yours run you? Do you think it is money well spent?

Thanks so much!

Well, I only had them for a year so I didn't notice much difference in the leather before/after. I paid about $115 (on sale) for the drivers side and it was absolutely money well spent. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer...if you don't have heated seats and your car stays outside, I would recommend them in a heartbeat. I would probably put it in my 430, but with black leather it would stick out like a sore thumb.

I got the first one, cheaper custom fit. That's all I got, no headrest cover, armrest etc...

For it not to be tailor-made, it fit surprisingly well. It had numerous elastic bands with clips and pretty much stayed put.

I got one from Rocky Mountain and the quality was fine...it just didn't suit me and I ended up returning it. I thought it was going to make the car cooler in the summer but I didn't notice much of a difference from the leather. But the Rocky Mountain guys were great, took the cover back with no hassle so a thumbs up for these guys.

I've been deciding if I like mine yet, they came with the car xD. Genuine New Zealand sheepskin covers, matched to the interior, they're pretty darn fancy, and pretty darn comfy!

Just ordered a tailor made one from RM ($169) in pearl (I have an ivory interior).
Just ordered a black sheepskin steering wheel cover from shearcomfort ($25 all in).

I'll put up pics when they come in.

Cheers!
