Default 1992 LS400 New Guy

i just picked up this car. 1992 LS400 maroon(sort of) most of the paint is peeling off the car. it has huge miles on it 271,000 but runs like a bear. it has had every single service including oil changes done at the dealer. had a timing belt at about 240k. pretty straight body on the car, which will be painted either hot rod black or anything but this putrid brownish maroon mud looking color. just wondering what to with the seats. they are worn completely flat is it easy to find junkyard seats or is it worth the money to have an upholstery shop redo the seats with aftermarket leather? also i have a set of 18" sc430 wheels they're off an '05 sc430. was wondering if these fit without spacers. any help would be appreciated and i look forward to letting you guys see this pig after it's all nice looking and whatnot.

the paint is completely shredded off this car. the interior actually cleaned up well, will add pics once back from detail. next stop is the tire shop. i have 05 sc wheels. i need longer studs, 15mm spacer and tires. not sure what tire size yet. what's the widest you guys have tried on 18 inch wheels?

You don't need spacers to clear the brakes.

don't go any wider than 245

Regarding fitting SC430 wheels, yes they fit like a glove without any spacers.

Here is my 94 with that wheel on 245/45/18 tires.

sweet deal i thought the spacers were required for the stock brakes as well. thanks guys you just saved me a $150! 245/45 18's is what i was thinking as well. it will be getting a 2ls conversion, but not for a while. i'm gonna wait til these brakes are done, they were replaced about 4-5k miles ago, so i have a little time to get that stuff together.

Nice pick up. I actually like the colour. Don't see it often.
As far as the seats are concerned, aftermarket leather seat covers are the easiest cheapest route. If you have a custom interior hookup then by all means.

Nice car! I'm about to pick up a '92 LS400 (same color, 250K miles) I actually like the old burgundy pearl paint. It's kinda rare. would love to see some interior photos. Mine will need new leather and paint also.
