a.c problem please help me its hott
hey guys I have two questions that I need help with .... I have a 91 ls400 I got a few months ago and the a.c doesnt work. I had it refilled and there were no leaks and the compressor clutch spins when I turn on the a.c (from a/c control) but provides no cold air. The heat works fine what could it be? bad compressor?
2nd question
does a 93 lexus sc400 compressor fit 91 ls400?
thanks

The first thing to check....with the hood open, in the back center up high, you'll see a heater core valve with a cable attached. That valve controls how much water gets to the heater core. When adjusting the temp, make sure the valve moves. It could be stuck open. If that's not it, I'm not sure what the problem could be.

I had similar problems...Had a place refill it and they put dye in it. they also did the cheap conversion for me r12 to r134a
The air worked for one day after that. So for a year I drove it without having air.
I bought one bottle of refill myself and tried to add it. But once the needle got near full the gauge collapsed .So I gave up.
A few weeks back I bought this, Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Recharge Kit
It has leak seal in it also.I kept putting it in slowing, the needle on the gauge would collapse when it got in the green zone.I just kept putting more. I have had air for 3 weeks now.
I may have had a small leak and this stuff sealed it......The a/c shop I do not think they put any type of leak seal in only dye and refrigerant .
