Default Coilovers

In the pic, I am wondering what I would need to do to get a drop like that? I am assuming coilovers? CELSIOR GOD mentioned in JP they use air bags to get a deep drop, not sure if I want it really slammed but I am wondering what my options would be to do a proper drop (not just springs)

Also wondering for those with 19-20" wheels on their LS with a drop, how does it ride? Does the back bottom out with 2 people in the back seat?

Is coilovers the way to go or is air bags an option?

I am really new to the LS scene, I was leaning towards a new GS this fall but I am quickly changing my mind and weighting out all the options on what it would take to get my desired look in a LS and GS. Once I get all the info, I am hoping to make a decision.

Thanks for all your help in advance!!

You can use coilovers, but offsets, tirewidth, and fender room all play a big roll. Most of these cars in japan have customized there fender wall for maxium lowering. You can never drive like this here in the states.Im pretty sure most of airbags though. But you can get the slammed look with coilovers as well.

your just a pile of information!! Figured something like a 19x9 19x10 or 20x9 20x10. Coil overs(is there a air bag kit instead?) Really wondering how it will ride, if it will bottom out. I know it won't ride stock, just wondering how bad it will ride. Dammit, keep looking at that fab pic and it is hot!

I am going with 20x8.5 and 20x10,you might be able to lower it 1.5in after that you will most likely have to start doing mods on your suspensions and fenders to go lower.

I dont think it will be that bad liked slammed civcs or integras, but it will be bearable. Coilovers dont give that bad of a ride.

I think Manaray knows more info ride quality.

Did you order your wheels already?

Well 1.5" with 19's or 20's should be OK with a kit.

Do you know if anyone on here is rolling a Ls430 with 19-20" wheels and coilovers?

Thanks! Again I am a ways away from buying my next car, just seeing what it will take to make a LS or GS the way I want.

A little fender work is no big deal

Honestly, there are SO MANY fixed up GS's, it would be nice to see someone do up a LS430 the right way...

You could always buy my GS430 and then I'll buy a LS430 and do it up...

Grin. Sounds like a deal for you eh? Same thing I am thinking, lots of GS's fixed up, and when a LS is done RIGHT, damn it is sweet. Just going into an unknown area, lots of people with fixed up GS's so there is plenty of info to work with, where the LS I am really digging to see what it will take to do it right along with how well it will ride\drive\ground clearance etc..

Haven't seen one nicely done LS around here, not even one GS, they all have Giovanna's and knock off LD1s

Actually, I am almost positive that I won't be able to get 100% of my money out of it...especially the car itself since it depreciates....I would still have to put in a ton of money to get the LS430 with all the mods I want...

Who knows...maybe I'll just do a Ist instead...some nice 15's will look like DUBS on that car!

Laugh!! If you could even find some 15's!!

Hum. Yeah I am thinking to do a LS RIGHT, looking at $10,000 or something. On top of the $60,000 for a LS430. I would have to part it out when I want to sell, no one will want a LS430 like that in michigan, even if it is real sweet. You may have a decent chance with resale value in CA.
