Default trac light

Yesterday I was driving (about 45MPH) and the trac light came on. Not the trac off light but the one that comes on when the tires break free. My question is would this come on due to a bad wheel bearing? I have a humming but don't know 100% were it's coming from. It hasn't come back on after shutting the car off and restart. Anyone know why this would have come on? Just trying to get ideas on where to look if there might be a problem.
TIA

Hello there!...

Before some other veteran members jump in, make sure to note the year of your vehicle, along with any other possibly connected issues/comments about the car.

-Let us us know if the light comes on again
-Check the brake fluid level
-Tires all in ok-to-good condition? (enough tread left? bad wear pattern?)
-While doing your regular maintenance, have the mechanic do a simple bearing test. (With the car raised, wobble/shake the wheel by hand to see if theres any play)

Do those simple things, and then you can continue. On-hand check is the start.

to add to that, go to www.lexls.com look up diagnosis, there they will show you how to diagnose the car, i have the same trac light problem, the problem according to the diagnostics is a constant running of the motor because the accumulator keeps loosing pressure. there is no leaking break fluid, so i believe i just need a new accumulator. Please dont go to the dealership, im buying mine on ebay and installing myself hopefully, just as soon as my VIP grill and window tint come in, so in other words if your not leaking break fluid just press the trac off button when you get in until its fixed.

Thanks kuziwk, that is exactly what I was looking for, were to start to diagnose. I was also wondering what the traction control was in conjunction with. (Now I know) Sry I forgot to say what year it was but if anyone is interested it's a '93. Thanks again.
