91 LS400 Front Seats ReStuffed
Hey guys
Well I just picked up my car from the Upholstery shop. Wow what a difference in my seats. They restuffed my two front seat with around 2 inches of foam, night and day.
Before when sitting in the drivers seat I could reach around and easily stick my hand in this huge gap between the backrest and the seat cushion. I'm only 195lbs so I was not sinking the seat to oblivion either. Now I could not shove my hand in there when I tried.
Also before I had the power seat all the way at it highest setting just to drive comfortable. On the way home I had the seat maybe a smidgen above a fifth way up of the lowest setting.
Last thing was before I never felt the side of the backrest were comfortable because I was sitting tow low. Now the backrest feels normal and comfortable as it should.
If you have a first Gen LS and feel as you seats are not as supportive as they should be get them stuffed. One more comment, I went to one shop and had them look at my seats to see if they needed padding. The guy told me NO they were fine and this is how they should be. So them I asked him well if I wanted to stuff them some more could he do it. The guy comes back with "Well I've never worked on one of these Lexus's so I will need to figure out how to take it apart!" I left quickly and went to another shop! Deffinatly go to more than one shop.
Total cost was $75 per seat.
Good Luck
PS This weekend comes a full tune up plus injector and transmission service plus two new rear struts!! I cant wait!

The orginal leather is still in good condition. Not great but good enought that it did not warrent replacing it at this time.
The backs/side were fine. Only the seat bottoms were in need of help.

Hey here is a pic I took of my seat for another thread but wanted to show you what it looks like now that it has been stuffed. Mucm Much more comfortable.
Yes it look a little bloated right now but that should settle some with time.
