Question Question on Needed Stereo Amp - LS400

I need a new stereo amp for my '93 LS 400. Which one should I get? I don't need a real expensive one. Just one that is moderately priced. I know this is a real open-ended, general question, but after reading various posts I am a bit confused.

Should I get a 2 channel or multi-channel? Or something else?

Also, where is the amp located on the '93 LS 400?

That question is about as wide as what car should I buy. So answer the following:

What is the amp for?
What type of music do you listen to?
What do you expect the amp to do?
What is your budget?
Who is installing the amp?
What headunit, or stereo deck are you using?
What speakers/subs are you using?

What is the amp for? To replace the original amp since it has died.
What type of music do you listen to? All types. Mainly rock and classical
What do you expect the amp to do? Provide music to all speakers at or above specs for the original '93 LS400
What is your budget? $250 - $300
Who is installing the amp? Have not researched it.
What head unit, or stereo deck are you using? At this time stock '93 LS400.
What speakers/subs are you using? Stock '93 LS400
Hopefully this helps narrow my "wide" question down.

you cant really replace the factory amplifier with an aftermarket one and retain all the functions. you need an OEM replacement, otherwise the headunit and CD Changer will not function properly.

Thanks for the information. I am not ready to upgrade everything else. So I'll check the OEM replacement market. Thanks.

I actually have a complete OEM system available. If we have the same system I can get you the part you need. PM me if you are interested.
