Default Power Antenna replacement with a wip

New here and just picked up a 97 ls400 and the power antenna is stuck up.
I was thinking of just installing a wip.
Can anyone hook me up with a direct replacement non power antenna.

thanks

Hey
so when you say a kit is the kit for a pwr replacement.
I'm not sure whats wrong, I hear the motor for it run when I shut the car off but it doesn't go down.

If you're lucky the teeth on the whip are worn and you can simply pull the old mast out with the whip attached. If the whip is broken inside, you'll have to disassmble the power antenna assembly to get it out.

Instructions here for gen1 but should be very similar for your 97:

this repair is so easy...... I got the ebay kit, for power antenna. pulled the old one out, and pushed the new one in... and it is working, also, that was about a year ago, still working.

$14.45 on ebay, with free shipping.. #270561805315

The nylon gears in the mast or mast itself often break resulting in the antenna getting stuck in a fixed position. If so, follow the replacement procedure and simply replace the mast. ~$32 at a dealer. It is very easy for a mast replacement. If the nylon gear shaft is broken inside the motor, AzHotLS posted the link.
Easy fix.

I just got tired of my bumper car looking antenna, so what i did was to take the plug out for the antenna and put the antenna plug into a cheap $16 telescope antenna without a motor. Put it inside the rear fender across the old one. It sits perfect with two strips and i can recieve any radio signal with out any noise. So now i'm done with the bumper car look ;-)
