Default How do i build a motor ???????

ordered a motor for my 92 ls400 but received a motor out of a 95 ls400 so the mechanic wants another 1k to change everything over . what should i do to do the work myself ? old motor is still in the car and the new motor is on hoist ???? PLEASE HELP !!!????

tell the company to pick their motor back up since they sent u the wrong one..

ok . so what should so what should i do next ? the old motor was ran hot until it stopped . should i work on it or find another motor ? i already have got the parts :timing belt , water pump , thermostat , spark plugs , front crankshaft seal , rear main seal , oil pan gasket , spark plg wires , distibutors , rotors , drive belt , radiator hoses , serpentine belt , timing belt component kit , idler pulley tensioner , timing belt pulley .

1. As stated, have them pick up the incorrect motor and send you the one you ordered.

2. 1UZ motors are fairly not to expensive(as a whole) to find/get. In your other thread, you stated that the old motor has not been turned/cranked in over 4 years. Lost cause at this point,,just replace and you will be MUCH happier.

that isnt even touching the surface of what you need if you want to rebuild the block.

send it back and replaced, or get your money back and buy from somewhere else.

why not strip down the '95 motor to a long block and then bolt everything from the '92 motor on there?

thats what the mechanic was charging 1000 for, and if he is asking how to do it, its best he leave it to the professionals. Its a good days worth of work.
