Default Starter replacement gone bad

I have a 1992 ls400, and the starter went out. So I brought it to a mechanic [a reputable one who has done this job before] the starter has been replaced but now the car won't fire, it turns over now, no more click. the computer has been replaced but it's still won't fire. there are no check engine lights on everything looks normal? The car has been at the shop for 12 weeks and He has ran out of Ideas. Anybody have any suggestions, the car is still to nice to go to the crusher! any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Bill

I know when I did mine, almost all of my wiring clips broke (due to age.... and toyotas horrible plastic they use) so I would start there. Check and make sure all the injector plugs are clipped on tight, and then go on to check all the other plugs that were undone. Thats all I got for ya, hope you figure it out soon

I know when I did the starter on my '95 I had the same problem with all the clips breaking, but all connectors were snug so I didn't have a problem there. Upon starting it turned over but didn't fire up. I actually had to pump the gas while starting and it eventually fired up. The gas had to build up pressure in the line. I hope this helps, good luck!

Default starter replacement gone bad

I had my starter replaced 3 months ago car will not fire, I picked it up and brought to different mechanic, He has only spent a half hour on it so far, says there is no spark and the injectors are not firing? He thinks the security system has locked something up. he is going to try to research this tomorrow. anybody ever heard of something like this happening?

Hopefully a 1-LS owner will chime in about the security system. Otherwise, disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and it should clear the codes.

make sure the cam sensors are plugged in. if there is no sensor from the cam position sensors it cant fire the injectors or coils.

Need more info. Was the car able to start and drive during those 3 months after the starter was changed?
