Default Help! Decelleration problem when I let off the gas

I've tried searching for this... I know I've read it somewhere but I can't find the post...

When I let off the gas the car drops in speed instead of coasting smoothly. The gas pedal is very touchy because of this and makes you jerk the car when you press it or let off of the gas.

Can someone tell me what the problem is? Or direct me to the post I'm failing to find...

sounds like the car isnt in Drive, is it in Drive or one of the lower gears when you notice this? almost as if the overdrive/lockup wasnt working...

go see a tech , atleast 10 things to check , some of them simple and since you didn't post them you probably didn't do it ,like tire pressure.

Okay sorry, its a 98 with 70,000 miles. MY TIRE PRESSURE IS GOOD and it is IN DRIVE!

Its nothing obvious as I am fairly good with cars...

I've read a post about this as a common problem with the 98-00 LS. Any help finding this post would be great.

It does feel as if its in a lower gear than it should be, but it happens at all speeds, almost all the time.

I'll get back to you on that. What should it be at?

Note, it doesn't do it ALL the time, and when it does do it apparently by shifting back to park, then back to drive again helps.

It feels just like when you are in too low of a gear and let off the gas. Then when you press on the gas again it jerks the car.

my car has always done that, the upside is that the car is in fuel cut-off when its decelerating like that. i think its an issue with the torque converter not uncoupling.
