Default this is killing me...car wont stay running!!!!

Ok here's the deal, been out all day driving my car. I get home and let it sit for a few hours, start it up to leave and it cuts off within 25 secs of running. It sounds like I don't have my MAF on but everything is connected and has not been touched.

plus this has been randomly coming on and going off but I just changed my air filter not too long ago....

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance...

That has nothing to do with an air filter. That looks to be the cooling system warning light. Radiator, hoses, low coolant, water pump, coolant temp sensor, coolant level sensor are all possibilities. Is your car overheating?

I checked my coolant the other day but it was dark when I checked it tonight...I will get on that and let you guys know whats going on tomorrow. What made me think about my air filter was the sound the motor was making. Have you ever ran the motor without the air filter on the throttle body? you know how it revs high and then cuts off? that's kinda what it sounds like...

Did you just put in a new air filter, or did you mod it or add an aftermarket one?

Also, that light is the low coolant light, from the sensor attached to the overflow tank. Top it off and the light should come off, but investigate where the fluid is going. As said earlier, you have a leak.

As far as I know toyota EFI won't prevent you from starting the car with low coolant. Its confusing that you drove it all day then let it sit then it will run for 25sec. Does it run and drive and everything is fine for 25sec, or it will just idle for 25sec? Confusing to say the least

Sorry about to lack of updating guys been trying to find a job lol...but Kingsoup the car will turn over...run extremely loud as if the MAF is not even connected and then cut off, never even idles down... the strange thing about it was that when I went to crank it up the next day...its starts just fine and hasn't done it since. Maybe cutting off and on that many times reset something. Well I don't know but I'm glad that it stopped....
