Default Driver Seat Replacement/Transplant from other Lexus

Are there any other Lexus seats that could be transplanted in place of the driver’s seat? Still use heated seat switch and power options. I would like something with more side bolsters too and have more tilt up in the front and more drop in the rear. At full max up in front and down in back I still hit my head on the head liner sometimes.

Looks like the IS300 has the same color seats. So does anyone know if they will fit or if it would be easy enough to make the transplant for just the front buckets? Which seat is better the Cloth and leather or the all leather.

Power and heat is very easy to rewire, but you'll lose memory seats, and most likely seatbelt tension reducer feature.

As far as fitting the seat itself, should be possible, but you will need to make some custom brackets to adapt the rails.

Not worried about memory I am the only driver of this car. What is the seatbelt tension reducer the button that moves the seat belt height is on the door.

No. In the LS model the seatbelts are setup to have less tension when they are buckled in than when they are not buckled in. There's a switch inside the buckle that activates the feature, obviously its not present in the IS seat.

Without this feature enabled you will find your seatbelt too tight and uncomfortable. The workaround would be to just wire it to the ignition, so that it would activate as soon as you start the car, but on the downside, if you unbuckle, the seatbelt wont automatically retract until you shut off the car.

This is what you should do, fasten yourself up and move around in the seat with the ignition on and off. You should feel the difference in tension and decide whether you could live with the feature disabled or use the work around.

Or would the IS250/350 seats be better and would this Cashmere color match? Is the cashmere just the Ivory renamed?

The color match will not be 100% thats for sure, but it will be close.

IS250/350 seats will be easier to find in good condition and they are much better quality to begin with.

Again thanks, I tried the seat belt tensioner and it seems to be associated with the ignition not the seat belt receiver. As soon as I turn the car off you can feel the belt pull back towards the b-pillar.

Its associated with both. Once you turn the ignition off, the tensioner releases, and whether the belt it buckled in or not, it will have increased tension.

When the car is running however, tension reduces once you buckle in.
