best pads for OEM replacement? wouldnt those just be OEM?

now if you mean a performance alternative in OEM calipers, then i'd heavily recommend Axxis/PBR Deluxe Ceramics. you seem to have the rears listed, so the place SHOULD be able to get the fronts, part no. D665R. remember, it's always important to match front and rear brake pads in order to maintain a consistent brake balance.

Lol PD I was thinking the same thing about the OEM brakes..there is only one set of OEM.......also like your pick for aftermarket brakes. +1 for what PD said..

Ok smart asses some of these say OEM after them and some don't. Which is the OEM pad then.
Are the Axxis/PBR Deluxe Ceramics better than OEM?

From what I've heard PD say in previous threads on this subject, the Axxis ones are an excellent pad with great stopping power and no dust. When my EBC Red Stuffs bite the dust, I'll be switching to the Axxis pads - which will probably be soon.

on your list "OEM" refers to being that quality or stopping power. an "oem" equivalent pad.

the Axxis are a little bit noisier sometimes, but dust well and stop EXTREMELY well, much better than the pretty decent OEM pads....

The true OEM pads for our cars are made by "Sumitomo"... Accept no substitutes!

Sumitomo also makes tires, including Dunlops (for Dunlop) for the US market. They're also the parent company for Tire Kingdom and NTB (National Tire & Battery)...

OK brakes are not my thing, I just want to be able to stop well and be quiet at OEM level braking or better. There is a recent thread about R1 concept rotors and PBR ceramic brakes from here.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...ther-mods.html

pads and rotors here.
http://www.r1concepts.com/lexus-ls400-1995-all.htm

Do I want the axxis pads I think axxis and PBR are the same thing? They say premium and not ceramic what are they? The poster said they are ceramic.

Would these be a good substitue I need new rotors and pads front and rear before too long. I really need some advice on exactly what to get and where. I would say I have 4mm of pad left, not gone yet but getting there and this tank doesn't stop very well. I'll have to dig through the maintenance records to see when they were replaced last. My rear rotors have pretty thick grooves on the outer edge of the rotor. I also have the 18's from the LS430 with eagle f1 gs2's which are 3 season tires, the car shouldn't see too much if any rain and no snow. You can see rotors through the rims and are a little more sporty of a tire. I just want good brakes.
Thanks for the help guys.

Axxis=PBR

The Deluxe Ceramics are what im running on my car, just put the ultimates on our minivan

love them to death, R1 rotors are pretty good quality though you can pick up Brembo blanks from tire rack pretty cheap.

The Brembos from tire rack are like $82 each for the front and $89 each for the rears and didn't have good reviews. The R1 Concepts (Eline Cross-Drilled - Slotted) are $121 a pair and $94 a pair for rear. Are the R1's on the same level or better than Brembo (the reviews seem to say better) and the R1's are less expensive. Brembos = $342 R1 = $215 If the R1's are compairable then they are a much better deal and together with the Axxis pads sound like a good combo?

drilled and slotted dont make the rotors any better at all. given my experience with Brembo's solid rotors and the experience of several other members there have been no problems at all, but on the same side i've used R1Concept's BLANK rotors on our minivan without any issues.

if you want R1s, get the blanks, or at most slotted for visual appeal. drilled aftermarket rotors in this price range crack almost 90% of the time from my experience

Just had the R1 Concepts E-Line slotted ($121 a pair) installed today for the fronts. Haven't driven with them much yet (obviously), but from what I have experienced, they are smooth, quiet and stop very well. I'll be driving to/in/all around St. Louis tomorrow, so I'm anxious to see how they do. They are paired with EBC Red Stuffs.

The original rotors had 131,000 on them...
