Default Coilovers for a 98 LS400

I searched this all day and haven't been able to come up with any other results. I'm trying to find a good coilover setup for an LS400 I'm looking at. I want to be able to get it low, like really low. So far I've read almost every coilover thread that I can find and here's what I've come up with so far.

Megan Racing Coilovers - Affordable, Good reputation, go really low

D2 Coilovers - Affordable, Good reputation but only a handful of reviews, not sure how low they go

BC Racing - Affordable, Good rep on other platforms but I haven't been able to find much about them on an LS400, not sure how low they go

JIC Coilovers - Expensive, inconsistant quality, go really low

I'm leaning towards the BC's just because I've dealt with them before, they have really good communication, and their warranties are pretty good, especially when it comes to replacement of a blown/dead coilover. Problem is that I don't know how low they go on this platform.

How harsh are the high spring rates these often come with? The BC's come with a 12k F and 8k R, for me that sounds like a very stiff rate, but due to the size and weight of the LS400 I'm not sure how they'd feel. I don't mind a stiff ride, I just don't want something too harsh as this is going to be my daily driver. I'm used to cars that are at least 900lbs. lighter running 8k/6k rates or somewhere close to that.

Also when slamming an LS400 is there anything that you need to worry about in the drivetrain?

Are there any kind of camber kits needed/used?

Sorry if any of these have been answered, but I've been searching for hours and haven't come up with any clear answers to these questions.

Oh, and hello!

you havent searched at ALL, the questions you are asking have ALL been answered,
multiple times.

coilover reviews: search harder.

coilover specs: manufacturer's websites.

drivetrain: what kind of question is this?

camber kit: we have factory adjustment, but at some point you're going to have negative camber.deal with it.

Thanks for all that great information.

I was trying to get some first hand reviews on the height adjustment and not just the manufacturer specs.

In regards to drivetrain, I meant if there are any clearance problems, binding, vibrations, etc.

I'm aware that it will eventually get negative camber beyond the OEM adjustments, I was just curious if there are any available.

My d2s go a lot lower then the megan's I had on my last ls400. The megan's may have ridden a tad bit better, but not much.

Spring rates don't dictate harshness. Its the shocks valving & spring rates relationship that dictate.

Oh I know, I said spring rates as a general term because a lot of the time people only refer to harshness with the spring rates not realizing that a coilover, when properly built, is valved in respect to the spring rate. But with the shocks being valved for such a high rate I was just curious if the ride was "too" harsh. Living in MI we don't have the best roads to cruise on so I was just wondering how people felt about them in states with less than perfect road conditions.

The BC's go pretty low on pretty much all the Lexus applications, another great feature is the rubber upper mount inserts they come with, which are a heck of a lot better than the pillowball moutns most others come with for extra NVH cancellation.

We are an Authorized BCR dealer, feel free to PM us with any questions or for pricing

I've only been a part of this forums for a few months and I've seen countless threads which had recommendations and personal opinions on all different brands of coilovers...

Would you happen to know tire size? haha. I asked him a while back but he never told me.
