Default My 96 LS4

Hey everyone, this is my first Lexus and I love it! Well so far I just bought this last week. Has 95k on it and runs great. I already had the windows tinted(not shown) now all I need is some 5 spoke chrome wheels. Also is this color rare? I have not seen many other member pictures or even many on the internet with this color.

Thanks, James

Wow that is a clean 96....I wish my guts looked that clean. Welcome to CL. Oh and just so you know the wheels will be your first purchase with many more to come after it, the modding bug will soon get you. Read the Stickys and remember Search is your best friend! Congrats on your purchase!

Congrats on your new ride. I hope the timing belt was recently replaced.

I did not pay $7995 for it, I paid $6500 for it. The timing belt was changed by the dealer but when I do not know. It has the Toyota timing belt sticker on the cover but the info is worn off. I'm a mechanic by trade so I will probably just do the belt and the pump for cheap insurance after learning that it is an interference engine.

I'm looking for wheels and after searching on here, it seems these cars are a bit fussy when it comes to wheel fitment. I have a Mustang and some brand new 20" Shelby wheels and I will see if they fit without rubbing. I really want a true five spoke chrome wheel like another member here has, Lexkost? I cannot remember the name if that is the one but when so many members have different widths and offsets, it is hard to figure out what wheels will fit with zero issues. Oh and I'm from Binghamton as someone has mentioned before.

lexkost is on iforged.

what are the specs on your shelby wheels? we can tell you if they'll fit or not, and/or what fender modifications would be needed.

this is with the assumption that these will clear your brakes. if not, you'll need a 15mm spacer, which will make the fronts rather aggressive.

run a 225/35-20 tire (i'm assuming they're the same size all around since you didnt post the rears)

rears you wont have a problem at all, for the fronts you shouldn't have any problems at stock height, but you MIGHT at most need a mild fender roll.

Yes all four are the same spec. The 225 will be too narrow for a 8.5" rim, right? I do not like the wide rim, narrow tire deal just not my thing. The car will not be lowered so that is a plus. I figured since I already have these wheels I can put them to use. These should clear my brakes since these will clear the Shelby GT500 Brembo brakes on a the new Mustangs for which these rims are really for:

225 is within spec for a 8.5 tire. you can run 245/35-20 but will rub due to the increased OD.

Will the 225 tire on the 8.5 look anything like this? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/4435177-post822.html If so then I do not want it that way, just not my style.

Thanks, James
