Hey Guys, I own a 90 ls 400 with 119k miles on it. I bought the car a few months ago and it has been running smooth as silk. However, this past week after I put in a bottle of Chevron Plus fuel injector cleaner the car creates a weird smell when I first start it and idle it for 20 seconds, and seems to emit more exhaust smoke than I am used to seeing. Also, when the car is not warmed up it seems to make a gurgling sound as I accelerate, but goes away once the car warms up. My mechanic friend just recently checked the fuel injectors and said they looked good, but did say I needed to replace my VSU and vacuum hose. I am not sure what a VSU does, but I am wondering if these symptoms could be caused by some kind of vacuum hose issue, or maybe the smell is from burning away buildup as the fuel injector cleaner does its job.

If anyone can lend some suggestions or advice about what actions I should take I would appreciate it.

Search power steering pump problems and read throught that. Your probly gonna find out your burning powersteering fluid. Highly possible Hope this helps its an easy fix

^also check out the coolant and/or fuel filter/pump. Mines also had a gurgling sound from either one of those
