Default my new 1999 ls400

Just thought I'd share.
2 months ago I picked up a 1 owner, 84k miles, gold/tan, full maintenance records (lexus dealer every 5k miles, religiously), always garaged 1999 LS400.. Steering groans and 90k service is due soon, and it's Gold, those are the only drawbacks. Car is like new. Best car I've owned, although it looks as plain as beige wallpaper. Seriously, someone payed $60k for a new 'Gold' car? It is invisible to Police, though. <BR>

Fantastic looking car. What's wrong with gold? :P

I'm not a huge fan of the beige, but it goes well with a Lexus of this era.

I have a completely stock '98, same color and interior. Color wasn't my first choice, but it will grow on you. They are great cars. But I've noticed that other drvers seem to assume I'm going to drive like an old man, and then are surpised when I don't. Maybe I need some mods.

Very nice find. It was an LS in that colour that made me change my mind from buying an LS430 to an LS400. I think it really shows off the lines well.
Here's my favourite LS in that colour ever:

And the license plate is always good for a laugh.

Had my 99 almost a week now and is really clean.. some think I bought a new car. No Band-Aids missing from the first aid kit!!!

I wonder how many were in Green? This is mine, used at Lexus dealer:

What did Lexus call their color green? My Land Cruiser is a burgundy but they call it "Mahogany Pearl" for some reason.

update...

I found the color charts and found mine is: "Imperial Jade Mica".. real royalty!

It is not beige, it's "Mystic Gold Metallic"...

Nice car man. You timing belt is due based on age more than mileage being 11 years old. The power steering groan could be a clogged screen in the resevoir. A trans that's low on fluid also makes a similar groan.

congrats, i have beige interior on my LS400, and i love it. it won't get as hot as black interiors in the summer, but more importantly, it gives the interior a warmer, softer appearance. perfect for the LS400.

you're missing the "shift lock" button above your shift ****.
